Milee Park-Coleman was born and raised in Japan, but she is of Korean descent. She decided to move to Korea to attend university in Seoul where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. After graduating from the University of Korea, Milee moved to New York to better her English skills and she attended the School of Visual Arts where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art.
Milee’s first experience with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine was with her maternal grandfather who was an Acupuncturist in Korea. Her grandfather came to visit the family in Japan when Milee was 14 years old and decided to treat her eyes because she wore glasses since age 7. She received daily acupuncture for 4 weeks straight, but with this treatment, she no longer needed glasses until much later in life.
Receiving acupuncture and taking Chinese herbal medicine was always a large part of Milee’s life because of her close relationship with her grandfather. But it was shortly after her father had a stroke that Milee decided to return to school to study Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Milee witnessed her father’s full recovery with acupuncture treatments and it became clear that she must study this medicine to help others.
Milee Park-Coleman has experience with treating professional athletes and many sports related injuries. She enjoys practicing martial arts and this experience helps her to guide patients with movements and stretches that support rapid recovery. Milee is also able to work with some pediatric patients with developmental issues as she has an autistic child of her own. This can be done with acupuncture, acupressure and/or herbal medicine.
